At MIBinsure, we value your privacy; therefore protecting your privacy is important to us. We are also governed by the various laws which prescribe the treatment of personal information especially those acquired on line. We subscribe to these laws and state our unequivocal commitment to maintain your privacy and the information shared.

Apart from our commitment to protecting your privacy, our privacy statement tells you how your information is stored, how we use cookies, the reasons for requesting certain information and the use/sharing of your information. For further information, please read the entire privacy policy below.
- In administering your application we obtain information from you directly as well as form other entities such as Government agencies ( Tax Administration)
- We do not allow third parties to collect personally identifying information from your computer or mobile device when you visit our website.
- We do not now or ever sell your information to any third party nor do we store your card number and related information.
- The employees and agents of MIB who access your information shall only do so in pursuance of your application and only for the reasons connected thereto. Such persons are required to safeguard said information to the standard acceptable by MIB.

A. What Are Cookies?
"Cookies" are a feature of web browser software that allows web servers to recognize the computer used to access a web site. They are small pieces of data that are stored by a user's web browser on the user's hard drive. Information gathered through cookies and web server logs may include information such as the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at the Site, and the web sites visited just before and just after our Site. B. How We Use Information We Collect from Cookies
We use web site browser software tools such as cookies and web server logs to gather information about our Site users' browsing activities in order to constantly improve our Site and better serve our customers. This information assists us to design and arrange our web pages in the most user-friendly manner and to continually improve our Site to better meet the needs of our customers and prospective customers. We do not use these technologies to capture your individual e-mail address or any personally identifying information about you although they do permit us to send focused online banner advertisements or other such responses to you.

C. No Data "Capture" with Planning Tools
We provide many planning tools on the Site to assist you in financial planning. These tools include items such as a policy premium calculator. When you use various planning tools on our Site, we do not capture your personal information you provide when using these tools.

Collection of your information
When you visit our Site you will be required to share some personal information with us. Personal information is information that identifies you and is primarily required to process your application.
This may include:

- Age/Date of Birth
- Address
- Contact number
- Email address
- Drivers licence numbers
- Driving history

When an email address is given we may use this to contact you from time to time about new and existing products and services including special offers, promotions, or on matters directly related to your transactions. Pursuant to the Electronic Transaction Act (ETA) you may unsubscribe to these email by ticking the ‘opt out’ box on such email. When you apply for a product or service, we may collect information from Government and other agencies (Tax Administration) to confirm your identity.

Your personal information is also collected and stored when you:

- Complete any form on our website (a job application, send an email, conduct any transactions)

Sharing of information

a. Generally
We may provide aggregate information about our customers, sales, Site traffic patterns and related Site information to our affiliates or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.

b. Legally Compelled Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.

c. Sharing Information with Affiliates
MIB does not sell your information. However when your purchase a product or service from us, we may from time to time, share your information with our affiliates and strategic partners. MIB takes all reasonable measures to select product or service providers that are responsible and afford privacy protections to their customers at the same standard as MIB.

We may enter into strategic marketing alliances or partnerships with third parties who may be given access to personal information including your name, address, telephone number and e-mail for the purpose of providing you information regarding products and services that we think will be of interest to you. In connection with strategic marketing alliances or partnerships, we will retain all ownership rights to the information, and we will not share information regarding your TRN or other identification number that may allow access to customer’s personal financial data.

Any information on our customers or former customers will only be disclosed to Third parties in accordance with existing laws and regulations. Each and every third party to whom the information is shared shall be responsible to keep the information at the same standard as MIB and is responsible for any breach in the use of the information. Opt out of email and promotional communications
As stated above, from time to time we will use your information to provide details on special offers or promotional services and products, should you not wish to receive such information you may choose to “opt out” by ticking the box at the end of any email or by completing the “Do not share” form at the end of this policy. By completing this form you agree to not share your information with any affiliate or third parties or to send you promotional or marketing information. There are some information which we are legally entitled to send you and for which you cannot opt out.

Retention/storage of your information
Information collected by us is maintained with the highest privacy and forms part of our client records. Access to your information is restricted to employees deemed to need it in order to process any application by you. MIB will process your personal data for the purposes of providing insurance related services to you and for business purposes such as record management and general day-to-day business operations. As a broker for insurers MIB will collect and transfer your personal data to various parties associated with the services MIB provides to you. Your information may be shared with and used by third parties in the insurance sector, for example, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters and regulators. MIB will only disclose your personal information in connection with the insurance cover that we provide and to the extent required or permitted by law.

MIB’s policy is to keep any information obtained from you secure and confidential and only use it for the purposes of providing insurance, or as may be specifically agreed with you.
