We are an insurance brokerage registered under the laws of and operating in Jamaica. We offer a range of insurance related services including motor vehicle insurance from our website – www.MIBinsure.com.

OUR COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY
At MIBinsure, we value your privacy; therefore protecting your privacy is important to us. We are also governed by the various laws which prescribe the treatment of personal information especially those acquired on line. We subscribe to these laws and state our unequivocal commitment to maintain your privacy and the information shared.

- In administering your application we obtain information from you directly as well as form other entities such as Government agencies ( Tax Administration)

C. No Data "Capture" with Planning Tools
We provide many planning tools on the Site to assist you in financial planning. These tools include items such as a policy premium calculator. When you use various planning tools on our Site, we do not capture your personal information you provide when using these tools.

COLLECTION, USE, SHARING AND RETENTION OF CLIENT INFORMATION.
Collection of your information
When you visit our Site you will be required to share some personal information with us. Personal information is information that identifies you and is primarily required to process your application.

When you apply for a product or service, we may collect information from Government and other agencies (Tax Administration) to confirm your identity.

Sharing of information

a. Generally
We may provide aggregate information about our customers, sales, Site traffic patterns and related Site information to our affiliates or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.

b. Legally Compelled Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.

MIB does not sell your information. However when your purchase a product or service from us, we may from time to time, share your information with our affiliates and strategic partners. MIB takes all reasonable measures to select product or service providers that are responsible and afford privacy protections to their customers at the same standard as MIB.

We may enter into strategic marketing alliances or partnerships with third parties who may be given access to personal information including your name, address, telephone number and e-mail for the purpose of providing you information regarding products and services that we think will be of interest to you. In connection with strategic marketing alliances or partnerships, we will retain all ownership rights to the information, and we will not share information regarding your TRN or other identification number that may allow access to customer’s personal financial data.

Any information on our customers or former customers will only be disclosed to Third parties in accordance with existing laws and regulations. Each and every third party to whom the information is shared shall be responsible to keep the information at the same standard as MIB and is responsible for any breach in the use of the information. Opt out of email and promotional communications
As stated above, from time to time we will use your information to provide details on special offers or promotional services and products, should you not wish to receive such information you may choose to “opt out” by ticking the box at the end of any email or by completing the “Do not share” form at the end of this policy. By completing this form you agree to not share your information with any affiliate or third parties or to send you promotional or marketing information. There are some information which we are legally entitled to send you and for which you cannot opt out.

Retention/storage of your information
Information collected by us is maintained with the highest privacy and forms part of our client records. Access to your information is restricted to employees deemed to need it in order to process any application by you. MIB will process your personal data for the purposes of providing insurance related services to you and for business purposes such as record management and general day-to-day business operations. As a broker for insurers MIB will collect and transfer your personal data to various parties associated with the services MIB provides to you. Your information may be shared with and used by third parties in the insurance sector, for example, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters and regulators. MIB will only disclose your personal information in connection with the insurance cover that we provide and to the extent required or permitted by law.
